Bishop’s Volleyball Clinics were established in 1996 as an alternative or a supplement to longer, more expensive volleyball camps. Each clinic provides four days of instruction, drills and games. Players receive individual attention from qualified area coaches, and a clinic T-shirt is provided. Tod Mattox and Jackie Gomez will be conducting clinics this summer.

Volleyball I: This clinic is for elementary / middle school age players, grades 3-7. It is designed as an introductory course for players with limited experience. The clinic will focus on movement skills, footwork patterns and basic skill progressions for serving, passing, setting, and spiking. This course provides the ideal fundamental base, so young players can quickly learn to enjoy the game.

Volleyball II: This clinic is for middle / high school aged players, grades 7-10. It is designed as an intermediate course for players who can execute the basic skills of the game, but are now ready to apply them in game-like situations. In addition to skill instruction, players will learn perceptual skills, between-contact responsibilities and successful tactics. This course will prepare players for their middle/high school seasons.

Volleyball III: These clinics are reserved for girls who play at the high school varsity level due to extensive club experience. These are specialized clinics that are position-based (Setter-Attacker, Libero). Players will be separated by position for the first half of each session and compete in the second half.  Videotape is used extensively, and players are challenged to move their games beyond their “comfort zones.”
