Visual Arts Clubs

Middle School

Middle School Art Club is open to any sixth, seventh or eighth grade student. The club meets once a week on Wednesdays from 2:45-3:30 p.m. Monthly themes and workshops are overseen by an art instructor, while students may have open studio time to work on any media of choice.

Upper School

Upper School Art Club is open to any upper school student. The club meets once a week on Fridays from 3-4:30 p.m. This is a social working environment for any student to try out new media and work on independent projects. Off-campus excursions and school wide visual arts topics frequently occur.

Gallery Committee is open to any upper school student. The club calls meetings prior to the planning of art exhibitions. This is curatorial group of students who manage the art displays in the student art gallery, along with giving input to the visual arts department faculty regarding general art displays both on and off campus.

Arts Interact is open to any upper school student. The club schedules meetings as needed and conducts art lessons for elementary school students on the last Friday of each month at the La Jolla library.

The Bishop’s School is an independent, coeducational college-preparatory day school for students in grades six through twelve who live throughout San Diego County. Founded in 1909, the School is affiliated with the Episcopal church.
