Steps to Apply
Step 1: Submit an online application (parent completes first section and student second section). There is an application fee of $100.00 ($50.00 if you are applying for financial aid). To apply now, click here. If you are having difficulty filling out our online application, please call (858) 875-0826.
Step 2:Once the application is received, the Admissions office will call to arrange an interview.
Step 3:Print transcript request and three confidential recommendation forms (administrator, English, math), sign and submit to your school. Please ask your teachers and administrator to read the instructions and send them directly to Bishop's. These forms can also be found on the right side of this page.
Step 4: Register for the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) a minimum of three weeks prior to the test date by registering online at www.iseetest.org and sit for the exam no later than Feb. 3, 2018. The Bishop’s School code is 051330.
Step 5: If appropriate, submit a financial aid application. Applications for financial aid are available now and close Feb. 2, 2018. The financial aid application process is separate from the admissions application. Click here for more information.
Step 6 (Optional):Schedule a visit day for your child. Visits begin in October and must be experienced by Feb. 2, 2018. To schedule a visit day, please email Lauren Ghishan or call her at (858) 875-0819.
No! We recommend taking the ISEE in December or January after a student has completed their fall semester. Families should start the application process by taking a tour, visiting classrooms and submitting the application in early to late fall.
Once you submit the application, we set up a checklist for you. Periodically, you can check back on the status of your application and receipt of the recommendations, transcripts and scores. Please allow the Admissions office 2-3 business days for items to appear as completed on your checklist. Please do not worry if an item is not checked off your checklist; if any materials are missing from your file, we will be in contact with you in early February.
