Drummer Elise Trouw ‘17 Selected for GRAMMY Camp Alumni Band
It’s no secret that Bishop’s music program is outstanding, with a brimful pool of talented instrumentalists and vocalists. But when drummer Elise Trouw ’17 was recently selected to join the GRAMMY Camp Alumni Band, we were reminded again of our students’ intense passion and ability to make dreams a reality.
Alongside other chosen high school students, and special guest performer and current two-time GRAMMY® nominee Sam Hunt, Elise will perform on February 11 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles as part of the seventh annual GRAMMY In The Schools”Live!, a celebration of music and education.
The students involved in this prestigious event, including Elise, attended GRAMMY Camp, an interactive residential summer experience that focuses on all aspects of commercial music and provides instruction by industry professionals. The camp and its location presented Elise with the perfect setting for fostering her creativity and skill, helping her to perform exceptionally at auditions for the alumni band.
“I’m excited to be part of the GRAMMY Camp Alumni Band because the camp itself was phenomenal,” says Elise. “With the other musicians, instructors and guests I felt like I found my people. I made friendships with other artists with the same interests and passion. The alumni band is an amazing opportunity that I'm grateful to be part of.”
