Team SWARM Wins Second Place in Robotics Programming at North American Open

This past December, Team SWARM won first place in robot performance and were runners up for The Inspiration Award at the Southern California Regional Robotics Championship Tournament, which qualified them to compete in a national robotics competition, the North American Open, this past weekend at Legoland.

There were 80 teams who competed from all over the world, including teams from all 50 U.S. states, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Guam and Puerto Rico.

Team SWARM competed in all three areas of the competition: robot design and performance, demonstrating core values and a project designed to help replenish the world's pollinator populations by combining recycling, composting and milkweed production in an innovative manner, which they called POW (Pollinate Our World)!

After three days of intense competition, Team SWARM received two callbacks and won a final robot design award, second place in robotics programming!
Team Members are: Michael Zang ’22, Stanley Wei ’22, Logan Johnson ’22, Ryland Birchmeier ’22, Nikhil Raisinghani ’22 and Joshua Lee ’23.
