Bishop’s Rocks the Physics Bowl

Earlier this semester, Bishop's participated in Physics Bowl, a competition run by the American Association of Physics Teachers. The competition is an exam taken by approximately 10,000 high school physics students in the U.S. and China. At Bishop's, AP Physics and Advanced Honors Physics classes participated, as well as a few students who had previously taken Advanced Honors Physics.

As a school, Bishop's had the highest score in our region (Southern California) and the 7th highest score nationally. Each school's score is determined by summing the top five individual scores from students at that school. Our top five scorers were Kevin Chen ’17, Jerry Qu ’19, Hamilton Allport ’17, Naomi Kim ’18 and Veronica Tang ’18.

Individually, Kevin and Jerry did well enough to be ranked among the top 100 students globally. Kevin placed 1st in our region and 17th globally. Jerry placed 5th in our region and 50th globally.

Congratulations to all who competed in the Physics Bowl!
