13 Bishop’s Students Attend the Harvard Model United Nations Conference
From January 25-29, 13 Bishop's students traveled to Boston for the Harvard Model United Nations Conference. The conference drew more than 3,000 students from all over the world including Europe, East Asia and the Middle East.
Once there, our students took part in committees based on real UN bodies ranging from the World Health Organization to the Committee on Disarmament and International Security. It was an immensely rewarding experience as our students were able to develop and showcase their collaborative and oratorical skills.
In addition, three of our students were recognized for contributions to their respective committees. Niki Buss '17 received an Honorable Mention (3rd place), Sydney Gray '19 was named an Outstanding Delegate (2nd place) and Simran Deokule '18 was given the gavel for Best Delegate (1st place).
By the end of the trip, our students had learned to deftly navigate their negotiations, Boston's T subway system and an immigration protest. They can't wait to go back next year!
Attending from Bishop's: Esha Kashyap '19, Simran Deokule '18, Joshua Pelletier '20, Sayeh Kohani '18, Nikita Krishnan '18, Caitlin Hendricks '18, Ben Midler '19, Rachel Waite '21, Chase Kellogg '19, Sydney Gray '19, Davina Dou '17, Niki Buss '17 and Tim Kelly '20
