Naomi Wagner '09 Talks Genetics with AP Biology Students
As part of the community outreach component of her graduate program, Bishop's alumna Naomi Wagner '09 visited Ms. Julianne Zedalis' AP Biology class and gave a presentation on human genetic research and spoke about her passion for genetic counseling.
Naomi is currently studying to become a genetic counselor at the Boston University School of Medicine. As a genetic counselor, she will work with individuals with genetic disorders along with their families, providing them with condition specific information and services.
Naomi’s presentation offered students a glimpse of her personal path to studying genetics and working with the Undiagnosed Diseases Network at Harvard University. Her visit was timely, as the AP Biology students are currently learning about genetics in class.
