That’s why Sean Kandle ’04 is on the “40 Data Mavericks Under 40” list for creating the software Trifacta that automates the process of transforming data from database sources like Hadoop into something that can be easily digested by software visualization and business intelligence tools.
Sean, who co-founded Trifacta and is its chief technical officer, completed his Ph.D. from Stanford University, where his research focused on user interfaces for database systems. At Stanford, Sean led development of new tools for data transformations and discovery, such as Data Wrangler. He previously worked as a data analyst at Citadel Investment Group.
