Two Sophomores Qualify for USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad
Sophomores Eddie Qiao and Daniel Xu have been invited to participate in the USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad. Only the top 250 scorers nationally from the AMC 10 and the AIME exams are given this opportunity.
Established in 2010, “the test consists of six problems, administered over two days. Each problem is worth seven points,” according to the Art of Problem Solving website. The sessions last four and a half hours, and the top scorers on the USAJMO are then invited to the Red level of the Mathematical Olympiad Summer Program at Carnegie Mellon University.
