Bishop’s Art Club recently finished their first community service project: Cardmaking! Members crafted delightful cards to donate to healthcare workers at UC San Diego and patients located by the Jewish Family Services. Artists spent time handmaking every card, filling each with their love and hope.
Student artists expressed their gratitude to healthcare workers with exclamations of “Thank you for keeping us safe!” and “You are our heroes!” Well wishes were also sent to patients isolated due to COVID. Thoughtful messages such as “We are thinking of you,” and “You are loved!” flowed across the bright papers, hoping to bring comfort and cheer.
Katelyn Wang ’23 collected all the cards from club members and notes, “I was impressed by how much love and heart the artists dedicated to making these cards. Each one was unique in style, color, creativity, and it’s beyond exciting to know that the amazing art will be received by those in the community!”
Working with UCSD Health to send the cards, Shirley Xu ’23 says: “It was super heartwarming to see our art and heartfelt care towards these good causes. I know that each card will bring happiness to someone’s day, and that, in my opinion, is a really nice thing.”
Artists who utilized their talents to make thoughtful cards and bring a smile to those in our community include Shane Beste ’24, Ava Bradley ’24, Sydney Chan ’24, Annalise Chang ’23, Katherine Ge ’24, Macy Haro ’23, Scarlett Helliar ’24, Maya Krolik ’23, Crystal Li ’23, Aria Liu ’23, Katy Silva ’23, Grace Sun ’23 and Katelyn Wang ’23.
Thanks for bringing a heartfelt, bright moment to so many!
