Members of the middle school chapel council occasionally volunteer to assist Episcopal Community Services (ECS). This month, these seventh-graders worked in the Bishop’s kitchen under the guidance of Ms. Sara Sweet, Mr. Fernando Figueroa, Ms. Laura Rivas and Ms. Maria Moreno.
ECS sponsored a Friendship Family Dinner on Friday, Feb. 7 at St. John’s Church in Chula Vista. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, families were invited to “celebrate this holiday of friendship and love.” The event included crafts, a puppet show, photo booth, dinner and treats for 158 guests. The treats – buñuelos and chocolate chip cookies – were prepared by Henry Armstrong, Emme Birchmeier, A.J. Gwathney, Frankie Haley, Adelaide Kessler, Madeline Lane, Emma Mortimer, Rev. Simopoulos-Pigato and Mr. Kim.
The Bishop’s School is an independent, coeducational college-preparatory day school for students in grades six through twelve who live throughout San Diego County. Founded in 1909, the School is affiliated with the Episcopal church.
