Knights Perform Admirably at Prestigious International Regatta
Several Bishop’s students represented well at the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Mass., while competing for the San Diego Rowing Club.
In the Men’s Youth Eights, seniors George Scheibler, Miles McInerney and Justin Lobo and their teammates placed 20th out of 86 teams. The Men’s Youth Fours saw Sebastian Navarro ’22, Krish Sheth ’21 and their team take 23rd out of 85 competitors.
On the women’s side, juniors Clay Kates and Liv Bolitho helped their team place 18th out of 85 in the Youth Eights. In the Youth Coxed Quad, Bela Kellogg ’21 and her team finished 20th out of 43 teams. In the Youth Fours, Grace McInerney ’21 coxed her team to a 22nd-place finish out of 85 teams.
Each of the aforementioned teams finished in the top half (based on entires) of their sweep-oared event-division and are thus guaranteed entry acceptance into those same event-divisions next year.
Additionally, competing with her father Glynn, Liv placed 26th out of 39 teams in the Directors’ Challenge Parent/Child Doubles.
The Bishop’s School is an independent, coeducational college-preparatory day school for students in grades six through twelve who live throughout San Diego County. Founded in 1909, the School is affiliated with the Episcopal church.
