Getting to Know CFO/COO Pam Duffy

What was your first impression of the Bishop’s Community?
The Bishop's community is warm and welcoming with a true common vision of putting our students first and providing them with the best education possible.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is my family including my husband and three children. I find the greatest joy in life during simple times spent with those closest to me.
Who is your hero/mentor?
I don't really have just one hero/mentor. I have been very lucky to have several key individuals present during different times in my life who strongly influenced my life direction and choices including my parents, pastors and a few colleagues who mentored me at various institutions where I previously worked.
What’s on your bucket list?
A trip to Ireland and to Greece.
If you could travel in time, what time period would you visit and why?
I would love to travel back to the 1950s so that I could experience the world in a simpler time and to get to know my grandparents and parents as younger adults.
If you had to sing karaoke, which song would you choose?
Fleetwood Mac, “Dreams”
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Clutter! I am at my best when my office/home is clean and clutter free!
What’s the last book you read?
Brené Brown's “Daring Greatly”
Who was your favorite teacher in school and why?
Mrs. English was my tenth grade Biology and eleventh grade English teacher. She made learning fun and really cared about her students. Her true affinity for educating was clear in how she approached each class. She was a fair and equitable grader and expected the best from us.
If you could have a super power, what would it be?
I would love the ability to fly because it seems so freeing and peaceful. In addition, it would give me the option to view the earth from above and to travel to destinations quickly.
