Middle School Students Attend Annual JMUN Conference
Six Bishop’s students attended the 2019 conference, with one bringing home the Gavel award.
Marina Khoury '24, Jonas Pfefferman '24, Kasie Leung '23, Niamh Malhotra '23, Kate McCool '23, and Eve Paris '23 participated in the Junior Model United Nations Conference held annually at the University of San Diego's Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice. Most students represented Belgium on a variety of committees, debating and crafting solutions to such diverse problems as preventing state-sponsored terrorism, coordinating international responses to natural disasters, and assessing the dangers of Internet censorship. In addition, Kasie won the gavel award for best delegate on the Historical Crisis Committee acting as Jean-Marie Collot d'Herbois during a simulation of the Committee of Public Safety and Reign of Terror.
The Bishop’s School is an independent, coeducational college-preparatory day school for students in grades six through twelve who live throughout San Diego County. Founded in 1909, the School is affiliated with the Episcopal church.
