Meet the Captains: Boys' Basketball – Chris Rose '19 and Anthony Wood '19
The Locker Room knows you will be entertained and educated by this interview from Cam Ezeir ’19 with seniors Chris Rose and Anthony Wood. Both of these guys bring a nice mix to the quad and Eva May.
Anyone who knows Chris Rose is totally blessed with sharing in his great personality and exceptional perspective. One thing we bet you didn’t know that he is a renowned chef. When you see him on campus you might want to get a few of his recipes! He trains young children in his community. His favorite class is honors microeconomics and entrepreneurship with Mr. Mecham. He is also an active member of the Black Student Union. The four-year starter, three-year team captain and two-time Coastal League All-First Team selection has committed to play basketball at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.
A multi-sport athlete since sixth grade, Tony Wood has long since left his middle school nickname “wheat thins” behind, as he has carved out a career in varsity boys’ basketball and lacrosse. He is co-captain of both teams. His hobbies besides those two sports include skiing and weightlifting. He has made the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic team numerous times. Outside of school, he helped rebuild homes in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and volunteers regularly at St. Therese of Carmel Catholic Church. A favorite place includes the beautiful town of Ravello, Italy with its spectacular views of the Amalfi Coast. He will matriculate at the University of Miami next year and his presence, like Chris’, will be missed.
