Both the JV and Varsity teams improved their performance and ranking over the 2017 competition.
Back in March, our nascent History Bowl teams earned the opportunityto compete at the national level for the second straight year. Here’s an update!
Yasha Kharrati ’20 is a co-founder of the student group, and said, “It was a really great experience for us, and seeing the team grow from last year (our first time) to this year has been awesome to see. The team is very close, sharing a passion for history and good sportsmanship.”
“The History Bowl is a buzzer-based team competition in which schools face off against each other to see who can answer questions about history the fastest. It’s a lot of fun to engage in friendly competition which enriches our knowledge of history in a fun setting and lets us show what we know.”
In addition to the group competition, Yasha and Tobey Shim ’20 competed in individual events at the national level, with Yasha finishing in 11thplace in U.S. History Bowl, and Tobey earning 16thin the International Geography Olympiad.
Miles McInerney ’20 is the third member of the JV team, which finished 27thoverall; juniors Isabelle Kenagy, Rohit Raguram and Ivan Savchuk represent the varsity team.
