Library

The library staff provides curriculum support to the faculty and students – to help develop critical thinkers who use sources ethically and responsibly and to support lifelong love of learning and reading. 

Filled with a robust print and digital collection, the facility is a blend of tradition and technology, including four group study rooms with individual study carrels, a writing center and a media lab. 

With craftsman details throughout, the Manchester Library & Learning Center honors the three Irving Gill-designed buildings on Bishop's campus. The building is 22,000 square feet on three levels. The main level is the Huntington Library Collection, which includes the reference, religion and history sections. The atrium level comprises both fiction and nonfiction, and the upper level hosts silent study areas and The Learning Center.

With laptops, device chargers and other electronic equipment available for lending, our community has access to the world beyond our walls.

Open to the Bishop’s academic community, the media lab provides students a place to collaborate, create and learn.

Students have access to a green screen, multiple photo and video editing programs and Midi keyboards for creating sound and musical compositions. Equipment for checkout includes digital cameras, cinema lenses, Go Pro Hero cameras and accessories, lighting equipment, sound equipment and more.

Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Upper school students may use the library during their free periods to study, do research, write papers, read magazines and work on projects with classmates. Middle school students may use the library before and after school and with their teachers for research projects.
