Philosophy

Middle school learners have unique intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs. We believe middle school learning experiences should be integrated and relevant while opening doors to new ideas that evoke curiosity and the desire to explore further. Our middle school teachers design learning opportunities that engage students in critical thinking and problem-solving, allowing them to learn and express themselves confidently and creatively.

Middle school addresses the needs of early adolescents by appropriately designing their curricular and co-curricular experiences with an interdisciplinary approach. The whole-child emphasis of the middle school program is based on building study and thinking skills, taking responsibility for one’s own education, developing self-confidence and a sense of moral responsibility. Students are exposed to a wide variety of arts and athletic opportunities as well as assemblies and age-appropriate speakers throughout the year.
