Support Bishop's

Financial Aid

The goal of the need-based financial aid program is to bring to Bishop’s the most promising students, whoever they are, from a diversity of backgrounds with a myriad of interests. A promising student’s struggle to pay tuition should never be in the way of his or her path through this School.
The Bishop’s Board of Trustees is committed to sustaining a financial aid program that provides funds for 20 percent of the student body. Over the last 30 years, the financial aid program has grown from 20 students and a budget totaling $90,000 to 160 students and a budget of $2.9 million.

Funds for this program come from the School's Financial Aid Endowment, the Parents' Association annual fundraising event, and gifts from corporations, foundations and members of the School family.
Donors who support financial aid with gifts of $5,000 or more will be invited to become a member of the Michael W. Teitelman Society. The society was named in gratitude to former head of school Michael Teitelman who had the vision that Bishop's magic lies in its people and dedicated himself to growing the School’s need-based Financial Aid Program.
Become a member of the Michael W. Teitelman Society and join others who believe that it is possible to make a difference in the lives of talented young people by making a donation to the financial aid program. Donations may be made online by credit card, a check mailed to the School, a gift of appreciated securities, or as part of a planned gift that names Bishop's as a beneficiary with a percentage of the donor’s estate assets designated to the financial aid program.

Bishop's Auction

The Bishop's School auction is a 34+ year tradition, bringing together the community for a party with a purpose to support tuition assistance and faculty professional growth.
The auction directly contributes funds to The School’s Financial Aid Program, which distributes $3.2 million each year to approximately 20% of the student body, helping deserving students benefit from an extraordinary education.

Auction proceeds also provide nearly 100% of the annual budget for faculty professional growth. These funds allow Bishop's teachers an opportunity to further their studies, remain current in their field and provide unparalleled instruction to students.

On average, the auction generates $1 million annually in net proceeds, which makes a tangible impact on the lives of students and faculty!
