This is the title of junior Grace Sun’s New York Times STEM Writing Contest entry; on May 12, she learned she was named a runner-up by the NYT.
With her “Rubix Living: Deconstructable Tiny Homes for Homelessness,” Renee Wang earned a First Award at the March 2022 Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair, along with four different Special Recognition honors. Since then, her design has garnered more acclaim.
Nihko Johnson-Newman ’22 will report to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., on June 30. Alumni parent Capt. Michael Midgley conducted the official presentation of his certificate on campus on May 17. Nihko will join three other Bishop’s alumni at the US Naval Academy.
The Junior Model UN (JMUN) Conference was held at the UC San Diego Extension Center on May 18 - 19. Bishop’s ten-member middle school team was there!
The Society for Science and Regeneron announced their Grand Awards from the International Science and Engineering Fair on May 15. Junior Shirley Xu earned several awards and cash prizes for her work in mathematics.
