Knights Water Polo Greats Win Bronze at Nationals

Cassidy Ball '17, Sophia Sanders '21 and Kayleigh Schultz '17 competed alongside each other at the USA Water Polo Masters National Championships last weekend in Irvine. Playing with Sunset Water Polo Club based in La Jolla, they helped the team to a third-place finish in the 19+ Women division.

Cassidy recently wrapped a stellar goalkeeping career at UC Berkeley, competing alongside Bishop's classmate Georgia Gilmore '17. As a senior in 2021, she appeared in all 19 matches for Cal, sporting a 9.16 goals against average in 4:67.53 minutes played. A two-time All-American Honorable Mention (2020, 2021), Cassidy ranks eighth in all-time career saves for the Golden Bears.

In 2022, Sophia helped Stanford to a national championship in her freshman season. She totaled eight goals and two assists on 13 shots in eight games played. Sophia earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-Academic - Superior honors. 

Kayleigh was a four-year letterwinner at UC Irvine, playing with Ariana Bockstahler '18. As a senior in 2021, she saw action in all 20 games, recording 20 points on 13 goals. She earned Big West All-Freshman and All-Academic team nods during her four-year career.
