TAYLOR PERFORMING ARTS CENTER AND BLACK BOX THEATRE INFORMATION
Whether this is your first visit to our theatres, or you are a longtime patron of the performing arts at The Bishop’s School, we want to ensure that you enjoy your experience. We do our best to begin the performances on time. Patrons are encouraged to arrive at least 20 minutes before curtain. Lobby doors open 20 minutes before the show and seating is unreserved. If you have any questions about our theatres or facilities, please email the Box Office.
Printed tickets for performing arts productions are not required. An email confirmation of the purchase is the assurance that tickets are reserved and at will call (Box Office table) and on the master list. However, patrons can print out the emailed ticket and bring it with them to the Box Office table.
Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and may not be exchanged for another performance date, so please be careful when making your purchase.
To ensure a seat, patrons must pick up their tickets from the Box Office table at least 20 minutes prior to show time. Tickets not picked up may be released to those on the waitlist and to walk ups beginning five minutes prior to the show.
The Box Office table is located in front of the theatre. Patrons should check in at the table before entering the theatre, even if tickets were purchased online.
Patrons may purchase tickets in person at the Box Office table. Credit, debit, cash and check are all acceptable forms of payment.
If a show is sold out, patrons should arrive up to one hour in advance to put their names on the waitlist. The first few patrons usually receive seats.
The Box Office online sale of tickets opens approximately two weeks prior to the first performance of a production. Patrons who want tickets for multiple performances, must purchase tickets for each performance separately.
Patrons arriving late will be seated at the first suitable pause in the performance in the least disruptive location. Seating time and location are solely at the discretion of the house manager. In the event of a no-show or late arrival of a patron,Bishop’s Box Officereserves the right to re-sell a ticket to a standby patron. Patrons arriving later than five minutes before show time in the Taylor Performing Arts Center may lose their seats. Late seating cannot be guaranteed for productions staged in the Black Box Theatre.
The use of any audio and/or visual recording device is strictly prohibited inside the theatres. This includes the use of mobile phones, pagers, watches, etc. In consideration of patrons and performers, mobile phones, pagers, watch alarms, etc. should be turned off before the performance begins.
The Bishop’s School parking garage is available after 2:45 p.m. Other School events may limit the availability of parking; however, there is free street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Patrons planning to have dinner before a show should allow time for traffic and parking.
Refreshments may be available for purchase before the show or during intermission, but they cannot be taken into the theatres. Only water, coffee cups with lids and water bottles are allowed inside the theatres.
To inquire about a lost item, email the Box Office (email@example.com) immediately, including your name, daytime phone number, seat location, performance date and a description of the lost item. Lost and found items are stored until the end of the school year and then donated to charity.
We welcome children of all ages to the theatre, although some shows may be recommended for children 12 and older. Children under the age of five accompanied by a parent or guardian are admitted without charge and may sit on an adult’s lap during a show. It is suggested that parents with young children sit in aisle seats so they can more easily leave if the children are no longer enjoying the performance.
Tickets are available for Fall Season shows. Tickets for Winter/Spring Season shows will be available in January.
