  • Executive Assistant to the Head of School (HOS)

    Summary Description:  The Executive Assistant to the Head of School (HOS) works closely with the HOS and the Board of Trustees President to provide efficient and discrete administrative support for the School.  The Executive Assistant also interacts with parents, Trustees, administrative staff, faculty, alumni, students and external constituents in a variety of roles.  The Executive Assistant must be reliably in attendance throughout the calendar year (a 12 month position) and able to work late hours when needed.
     
    Qualifications:  College degree preferred and a minimum of 10 years of administrative experience in an Independent School or Corporate setting.  Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Products and able to learn other systems.
  • Part-Time Childcare Instructor

    Summary Description:  The Bishop’s School Childcare Center is seeking a part-time/substitute teacher for preschool/infant/toddler care. Hours of the center are 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
     
    Skills & Abilities:

    Summary Description:  
    The Bishop’s School seeks a full-time Latin teacher beginning in August 2019. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach a range of courses in the Latin curriculum, and also has the ability to teach another world language, or courses in other departments.  The goals of the classical languages program are to develop in students the ability to read and appreciate significant works of Greek and Latin prose and poetry in the original languages. The department seeks candidates who are excited to teach in a student-centered, discussion-based setting, and should have experience and interest in teaching methods ranging from communicative and humanistic to analytical and philological.  In addition to teaching, faculty responsibilities include serving as an advisor to students.
         
    Desired Qualifications
    A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in classical studies or a related field is required and an M.A. is preferred; a minimum of three years teaching experience is expected, preferably in an independent school.

    Summary Description  
    The Bishop’s School seeks an innovative, dynamic and collaborative leader to promote curricular innovation and lead discussions surrounding the growth of the creative sciences at the School, which includes elements of science, technology, engineering, arts and math, and contemporary and interdisciplinary learning. Alongside the Wu Tsai Endowed Chair of Science and faculty colleagues, this faculty leader will teach self-motivated, creative students, design and develop innovative and interdisciplinary curriculum, form partnerships with external organizations, and help develop and implement a strategic plan for the growth and impact of the Wu Tsai Center for Creative Sciences.  

    This position will enhance an already robust faculty cohort by adding particular expertise in design thinking, applied engineering and robotics, makerspaces, experimental/experiential curriculum, computer science, machine learning and artificial intelligenceand/or interdisciplinary program design.

    Successful candidates play an active role in both the middle and upper schools, in a rich, student-centered learning environment. In addition to guiding the growth of the Wu Tsai Center for Creative Sciences, responsibilities include teaching courses (to be determined based on candidate’s area(s) of expertise and School needs) and serving as an advisor to students.

    Desired Qualifications
    Strong candidates will hold a master’s degree (M.A.) or higher and have either a minimum of five years of teaching experience, preferably at an independent school, or a strong desire to teach with equivalent industry experience. An unequivocal passion for working with adolescents and supporting them in all facets of their lives is essential.
