Visual arts department students can develop their artistic voice through 2D design, 3D design, time-based digital media and studio arts. Within these areas, photography, drawing and painting, stained glass, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, animation and video techniques are taught.
Visual arts students can construct an art portfolio that demonstrates both an exploration of their artistic expression and their individuality. This student-centered approach allows artists to consider the larger concepts of their work and make choices in the use of media.
Student art is displayed in a variety of locations on campus: Gilman Hall Gallery, Student Art Gallery and the Manchester Library & Learning Center. Members of The Bishop's School are welcome to stop by and view these exhibits; dates for opening events are subject to change. If you have any questions about attending an opening, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Off-campus exhibitions and partnership opportunities are offered throughout the year. Venues include The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library, San Diego Museum of Art: Young Art, Museum of Contemporary Art: Extended School Program, San Diego County Fair and San Diego Art Institute: Youth Art.
