Bishop's Knights Sports CampsOverview

The Bishop’s School is pleased to offer full day, half day and individual sports camp sessions.

Full Day & Half Day CampsNew CampsStudents entering grades 4 through 7 are welcome to enroll for the full day or half day camp at the Bishop’s Knights Sports Camps. The full day camp begins at 7:30 a.m. daily and ends at 3:30 daily. Campers enrolled in the full day camp can select four individual sports to participate in each week. The camp is structured to have two sport clinics/sessions in the morning and two in the afternoon following lunch. Half day campers participate in two individual sport sessions either in the a.m. or p.m. Separate registration for summer session classes is possible for the half day camper, creating a full-day experience on the campus. Enrollment in the full and half day camp programs includes lunch (served from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon daily). Before and after camp care and transportation are available for additional fees. Please refer to the general information section.

Individual Sports Camp Sessions Several individual sport camp sessions are available each day and each week. Campers can elect to take an individual sports camp session by the week and for a specific time. The School reserves the right to cancel the individual sports camp due to under-enrollment. Lunch is available on campus from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for an additional fee. Separate registration for summer session classes is possible for camp participants, creating a full-day experience on
the campus.


Baseball (Code BL)

Boys, Grades 4-8
The Knights Baseball Camp will provide quality instruction for players of all levels, grades 4-8. Skills such as hitting, fielding and base running will be taught by members of the Knights coaching staff as well as former and current Bishop’s varsity players. Cleats and gloves are required. Helmets and bats are provided.

Basketball (Code BB)

Co-ed, Grades 4-8
Under the leadership of CIF Championship Coaches Marlon Wells and Tom Tarantino the co-ed summer camp sessions place an emphasis on improving skills such as ball handling and shooting, becoming quicker, learning new moves, and developing an overall knowledge of the game. Learning is presented in a fun-filled, positive environment that uses drills and scrimmages. The goal of the coaching staff is to provide positive feedback, build self-esteem, and instill pride in each player.

Football (Code FB)

Boys, Grades 4-8
Summer Camps FootballThe Knights Football Camp will teach the basic skills of passing, catching, and blocking as well as offensive and defensive concepts. Coach Allen and his staff will provide a positive and motivational experience at this non-contact camp. To provide a safe and controlled environment, the skills and games will not require football gear (such as pads or helmets); however, cleats are required.

Lacrosse (Code LAX)

Boys, Grades 4-8
The summer lacrosse camp will focus on personalized attention, skill building, and positive feedback. Athletes will learn stick skills as well as offensive and defensive principals. There will be daily games and at the conclusion of each session players will receive motivational handouts and individualized feedback. The coaching staff cares about the individual player beyond lacrosse, resulting in a program that gives each player a positive experience. Players are responsible for providing helmets, pads, and sticks.

Soccer (Code SC)

Co-ed, Grades 4-8
Coaches at the Knights Soccer Camp will use proven methods and styles to motivate and inspire young players. Dribbling, passing, ball control and shooting skills will be taught in game environments that combine learning and fun for young players.

Intro to Strength and Agility - 1 (Code SA 1)

Co-ed, Grades 4-7
The Intro to Strength and Agility Camp is designed to help student athletes in grades 4-7 improve their overall athleticism through body weight exercises, explosive plyometric movement, and speed and agility drills. This class will prepare student athletes for the Knights Strength and Agility Camp, which is designed for upper grade students. This camp meets five days a week; three days of strength and agility training and two days of other sports/fitness activities.

Knights Strength and Agility Camp – 2 (Code SA 2)

Co-ed, Grades 7-12
The Knights Strength and Agility Camp is designed to help older student athletes, grades 7-12, improve their overall athleticism. A series of fundamental exercises, speed training and conditioning drills are combined to emphasize strength, speed, agility, flexibility and endurance. This camp meets four days/week.
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Tennis (Code TN)

Co-ed, Grades 4-8
The summer tennis camp is designed to introduce players to all aspects of the game and through the use of proper technique to enhance their skills in a fun and safe environment. More experienced players will be instructed in greater detail and participate in competitive matches. Camp instructors have experience in teaching young players the fundamentals of tennis. Participants are responsible for providing rackets.

Volleyball - 1 Beginner/Intermediate (Code VB 1)

Co-ed, Grades 4-7
The beginner/intermediate sessions are co-ed and designed for the young volleyball player who is either just beginning the sport or has a bit of experience. Each clinic provides five days of instruction, drills and games to improve the player’s abilities on the court and overall understanding of the game. Each player will receive individual attention from qualified area coaches.

Girls, Grades 7-9
The intermediate level sessions are designed for girls who have some volleyball experience, possess basic ball control, and want to improve their skills and understanding of the game. The clinic will stress movement skills & footwork patterns, fundamentals of passing, setting & serving, spiking and defensive technique, and position responsibilities in daily games. This camp meets four days/week.

The Knights Water Polo Camp will teach the basic skills and concepts of the game in a fun and safe environment. Camp instructors are energetic, motivated and experienced in coaching all levels of water polo. Individual skills including passing and shooting as well as offensive and defensive principals will be taught.
