Student Spotlight
Knight on the Street
By Jill Champion

QUESTION: What was the most profound thought you heard at Where Are They Now? (AKA Career Day)?

I appreciated hearing the importance of applying yourself. I wish my brother from La Jolla High School could have been here. It doesn't matter if you get into the best college, but instead it is about applying yourself all along the way.

Today made me think it is not about picking a major and sticking with it. You can change as you go. Getting introduced to new situations and friends keeps you progressing and learning.

George Champion ’16 I was happily surprised this was not a meeting to learn about becoming a doctor or a lawyer. It seemed like more of a motivational seminar telling us to go for learning things that truly interest us and finding things that stimulate our own natural curiosity. It was fun to hear.

I like the idea of following what interests you. The idea of giving back to the community you live in made me think this could be really fun.
